Top five the aim for the Spaniard

Jordi Torres (Althea BMW Racing Team) looks forward to his home race at MotorLand Aragon, as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship takes on the Pirelli Aragon Round. With a history of some strong results around the circuit – regularly finishing in the top five – the Catalan rider will hope to have a boost from his home crowd support.

WorldSBK will treat local fans to some stunning racing action this weekend in Spain, and Torres is full of anticipation ahead of an unpredictable weekend. You will be able to see even more sessions with the WorldSBK Video Pass, as free practice one and free practice two will be live for the first time.

The 29 year old explains how he hopes to impress on his fans: “I am excited because it’s the first round in Europe. Every rider wants to do a great job in MotorLand as it’s a lot of riders favourite tracks, maybe the Spanish spectators will help me a little to reach the front riders and this is my objective this year.

Discussing any changes and updates he has received for his BMW S 1000 RR, he explains: “I will try to improve on last year’s results of course, but the moment we don’t have many different things on my bike compared to last year. But we know the bike better; we have a lot of information compared to last year. For this race we will have a different front tyre, but I have more confidence with this front tyre as it helped me to catch the front riders a little. I hope to get involved with some battles, and make something spectacular with my fans.”
